One shortcut, from any app.

How it works

  1. Copy as usual. Magpie Clip keeps the text, images and Finder files you copy.
  2. Press ⇧⌘V in any app. Your history opens right in front of you.
  3. Type to search, pick an entry with the arrow keys, and press Return to copy it.

Made for the keyboard

Find it fast

  • Search narrows the list as you type.
  • ⌘1 to ⌘9 copy one of the first nine entries.
  • ⌘Y shows an entry in full before you copy it.

Copy several at once

  • ⌘-click text entries in the order you want them. ⇧-click selects a range.
  • Press Return to copy them together, one per line.

Text in images

  • Search for a word and find the screenshot that shows it.
  • Your Mac reads the text itself, with Apple's built-in text recognition. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Keep what matters

  • Pin the entries you use every day so they stay at the top.
  • Files you copy in Finder paste back as real files.

Your data stays on your Mac

Nothing leaves your Mac

  • No network access, no account, no analytics, no tracking.
  • Your history is a file on your Mac, inside a private folder that macOS gives the app.

Passwords stay out

  • Skips copies that password managers mark as concealed or temporary.
  • Skips anything you copy while Apple Passwords is the front app.

You decide what it keeps

  • Block apps, or pause tracking from the menu bar.
  • Keep 25 to 500 entries. Entries older than 30 days are deleted automatically; choose 7, 30 or 90 days.
  • When entries add up to about 200 MB, the oldest unpinned ones go first.

Paste on select, if you want it

Turn on “Paste immediately after selecting” and Magpie Clip pastes the entry you pick straight into the app you were using. This option needs the Accessibility permission, and it is off by default. Without it, Magpie Clip copies the entry and you press ⌘V yourself.

Pay once

Magpie Clip is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. No subscription, no account.
